The are an additional 10+ acres on the outside of the set.
Scope.
This is the steam that ran through the camp. It ran over a quarter mile long. It was engineered to always be full and appear to flow.
Even with a 4'-6" camera height the vastness of the set is apparent.
This was engineered so that sections could be moved out and the company could get in and shoot.
This site was chosen so we could be shooting right next to the main set. It was built and cleared about 1,000 feet away from the main set. The tracks are steel with hand cut wood ties and they terminate in forced perspective. I also made made the ends curve to enhance the perspective and allow parallax shift with the camera.
This train is all scenery built for the show, everything authentic and exactly right.
Everything you see here was built and moved to this set.
